Moetan – Episode 3 Review (Not Really)

July 27, 2007

You know I wouldn’t be me without half-assing at least one episode, right? Anyhow, I had all the reason to skip this episode. I’m not much one to come up with good jokes for fanservice episodes. I mean, all you can really think about is, “What the hell am I watching and why am I watching it?” The fact it’s a beach episode takes it to the next level. All great fanservice happens at the beach or in a hot spring. This happens to include a bit of both (okay so it’s a bath but it’s the same idea).

Conclusion: Average

A little of this and a little of that. I can’t completely bash the episode, but I’ve gone through enough fanservice that I won’t be blinded by it. Next week sounds like it’ll have more substance (whatever that means) but you never know what could happen. I definitely expected a total fanservice episode in this series, I just didn’t see it happening so soon.

Moetan – Episode 2 Review

July 17, 2007

Well, it’s time for some more Moetan. This is seriously becoming the show for me right now. While I’m looking forward to the better arcs of Higurashi, Moetan is the one show I’m looking forward to right now. Anyhow, that and listening to Minoru sing more songs at the end of Lucky Star.

I want a transforming ahoge too.

Anime Expo: Day 1 Report

July 12, 2007

A little late sorry but I needed much recovery time and I  didn’t have too much internet access where I was. Live with it.

So, the first day of AX was probably the most interesting in terms of what happened. Mostly because it included both exciting panels, one being the Galaxy Angel and the other being the SOS-Dan. So if either of those things interest you or you like listening to convention nonsense, then this day might be for you.

Moetan – Episode 1 Review

July 9, 2007

Yep, it’s that time again. Now that the Summer season is kicking in, I finally got motivated to write another review. This time, I plan on going for the entire series as opposed to episodes here and there. Or at least that’s what I’m saying now. I plan on doing some on HiguKai as well, but it’s opening up with it’s anime original arc. Being a big fan of the game though, I can’t say I’m too fond on reviewing it. Especially when I was expecting to see a fun arc thrown in there from the games. We’ll see what happens though and I might just start this week. Depends on how interesting they made it, aside from doing a time skip.

But it’s Moetan time. Probably the only show I gave some recognition too aside from HiguKai. No I don’t care about ZnT when there’s series like this out there to watch.

Learning English has never been so fun…and arousing.

Voting Now Open: Best Anime Opening of Spring 2007

June 24, 2007

So after putting it off for awhile, I wanted to try a bigger project. Since I still am a music buff, even with anime I decided to try something different. Spring 2007 will go out with a bang hopefully this year and it’s up to the viewers to decide it. How? Very simple. I decided to take advantage of the large majority of you people who can access YouTube. And I know a lot of you can ONLY watch anime through YouTube. Aren’t I such a nice guy?

This seriously loooked like the nicest way for me to handle this. So go NOW and vote. This keeps me from having to go to some bigass anime board to collect opinions. Which is a nuisance and everyone could figure so. Consider this my way of determining what will win, YouTube style. I do pride myself in my laziness.

Overall Review: Hitohira

June 15, 2007

As the season comes to a close, so must some of the series it brought for us to view. Unfortunately after this Wednesday, the series had to come to it’s eventful close. But even though I never got any actual reviews of it, I did follow the series piece by piece. So without further ado, let’s get Likkun’s opinion on this Spring 2007 sleeper hit.

Isn’t Mugi adorable with her hair down?

The Hidden Genius of Seto no Hanayome

June 5, 2007

I knew somewhere hidden under all that pervert, there lied some true genius within Seiji Kishi. From random gags, to repeated gags, to fanservice he does a good job when given the right material. After seeing the slapstick Terminator parody of Episode 10, I decided that this series was truly safe in his hands. It wasn’t luck, but actual talent that he was able to pull it off so well.

So way to step up to the plate after fucking up GA-rune, jackass.

Oh yeah, coming soon after the end of July, even though I’ll be absent at the convention. I’ll work on them once I get back and after all the convention reports are done. But…

1) Top 5 Anime Openings of Spring (Because I don’t want to wait for the LLAMAs for eveything)
2) Golden Moments of Seto no Hanayome (And there are a lot of them)
